OUR PROJECT / OVERVIEW

Our project

Through our project at the Mount Holland mine and concentrator and the Kwinana refinery, Covalent Lithium will be producing battery quality lithium hydroxide in Western Australia for the worldwide manufacture of lithium batteries.

Strategically positioned for global markets, our flagship project comprises the Mount Holland mine and concentrator, and the Kwinana refinery. Poised to produce approximately 50,000 tonnes of lithium hydroxide annually, a capacity which translates to powering approximately 1 million electric vehicles, it marks a significant step towards a cleaner transportation landscape.

The Mount Holland project represents our comprehensive strategy for sustainable lithium production. By establishing an end-to-end value chain within Western Australia, we exercise complete control over the production process, ensuring quality, efficiency, and environmental responsibility at every stage.

Looking ahead, we anticipate the completion of refinery construction by late 2024, with the first lithium hydroxide product expected in the first half of 2025. We are also actively exploring growth opportunities, including a feasibility study to double the production capacity of the mine and concentrator. This expansion initiative aligns with forecasted market demand and underscores our commitment to driving progress and innovation in the lithium industry in Western Australia and globally.
